Dogs have a lot of skills and talents which makes them one of the smartest pets to have. They can be taught different kinds of cool tricks such as giving a handshake and rolling over the floor. All dogs are special in their own way, but here’s one dog that has shown a different level of intelligence.
Stewie, a 5-year-old Scottish Terrier, has been learning a lot of things ever since he was just three months old. But one skill that makes him stand out is his ability to do some math.
Ian, Stewie’s owner, shares that it was very clear from the start that Stewie was special and gifted.
It was when Stewie was 10 weeks old that Ian began to notice the pooch’s first signs of intelligence.
The video shows Ian and Stewie sitting on the floor, facing each other with toy numbers aligned in front of them. Ian starts to give the furry pup some simple equations.
Ian asks what 9 minus 8 is, then extends his arm to give Stewie a little treat. Stewie happily eats his treat and approaches the set of numbers from 0 to 9 in front of him. He goes to the corner and reaches for number 1.
He answered it correctly! What a fantastic dog.
For the second round, Ian asks what 5 plus 2 is. He reaches out to lay the doggie treat on the floor. The adorable dog takes the treat again and proceeds to answer. He reaches out for number 7. Such a smart dog, isn’t he?
Because Stewie is great with their math exercises, Ian decided to try teaching multiplication and division for a change. Would you believe that Stewie is doing well at it too?
Ian proudly shares that as long as Stewie shows interest, he will continue to teach his furry pal new tricks while they both have fun.
Here’s the entertaining video of how they enjoy their math exercises.
