Bruno came to Let’s Adopt! unable to walk. He crawled so he could move around. But every time he tries, he suffers from excruciating pain.
Viktor Larkhill, the founder of the rescue organization, felt sorry for the elderly boy. He promised to provide Bruno a better chance at life. And he started to fulfill that promise by providing him the medical care he needs.
Vets performed several tests and X-rays. But the results indicated Bruno developed a cancerous mass on his knee. After careful analysis, the vet team determined there was no other option but to amputate his leg in order to save his life.
Viktor and his team needed to act promptly, or it might too late to help Bruno. However, they had to make sure the dog was healthy enough before he undergoes surgery. So Bruno spent the next few days adding on some weight and gaining strength.
Once the team determined the dog was strong enough, they prepped Bruno for surgery. The procedure took several hours, and the operation was a success. Bruno lost a leg, but he gained his life back.
Bruno stayed at the hospital for a couple of days recovering. As soon as his wounds healed, he became happier. He transformed from a defeated stray to a healthy and happy dog.
Soon, Bruno started his search for his forever home. A loving family who once adopted a tri-pod dog fell in love with the senior pup. They sent in their application, and before long, Bruno was on his way home.
Viktor and Bruno drove to Barcelona as soon as the rescue finalized the adoption. When the dog met his new family, he instantly connected with them. Today, he lives a beautiful life with his loving parents, a human brother, and a new cat best friend.
“Bruno has such a great life now,” said Viktor. “His family sends us photos and videos all the time, and we are so happy for him.”
