We can never deny how smart dogs really are. But while most of them are trained to roll over and fetch, some canines are taught how to wield a paintbrush. This adorable mini Australian Shepherd from Medicine Hat in Canada belongs to the second category.
Megan Bolen found out about the hidden artistic talent of her pet Rogan one day when a friend of hers sent her a video of a painting dog. It was intended to be a joke at first, but Megan thought it might actually be an excellent idea to teach her pup the way of the paintbrush.
Thankfully, she brought home some paint that day that she planned to use to create some art pieces for their house. But instead of doing the pieces herself, she decided it would be nice to have something of Rogan’s creation hanging up on the wall.
So with paint bottles and brush in hand, Megan trained the four-year-old mini Australian Shepherd on how to become a master painter. She would let Rogan hold the paint-dipped brush in his mouth and allow him to draw at the canvass freely. She would then switch the pup’s brush with a different color to give the painting more life.
After a couple of tries, Megan realized what an artistic pooch Rogan really is. They eventually finished a few paintings together and decided to sell them on Instagram.
In a matter of days, Rogan’s artworks became a hit, and people are already lining up to buy his stuff. He has also gained a few thousand fans on the social media platform, all of which enjoy watching Rogan paint in his mini studio.
Now, the pooch uses the proceeds from his artworks to help the animal organizations in their area. Watch the adorable pup in action here.
