Roni has been fostering for years and she loves it. Tadpole was Roni’s newest fosters and was someone that Roni truly bonded with.
For Roni, Tadpole was extra special because he had flippers. This made it difficult for them to walk around. The first thing that Roni did when she got Tadpole was to have him checked by a vet.
Roni was informed that the condition could be fixed through surgery. Unfortunately, Tadpole was not a good candidate for surgery. The kind doctor suggested another way to help Tadpole out.
The vet placed a cast on both of his legs that could help straighten his joints. Getting his joints straightened out would help him feel better. And it did.
Tadpole still walks differently than other dogs but he is able to lift his elbows when walking. This is big progress for him. This prevents his elbows from getting dragged on the floor.
When his cast was removed, it made Tadpole unstoppable. He would run around like he has no disability. He had no idea that he was different from other dogs.
All he knew was that he was happy and having fun. That’s all Roni wanted for him.
Roni has truly bonded with Tadpole and she wanted to adopt him. Adopting Tadpole would mean giving up fostering because Roni already has three dogs.
Fostering was very important for Roni because it means she’s able to help other dogs like Tadpole. Roni knew she needed to find Tadpole a home.
Roni was able to find him the perfect one. This family loves dogs who are different from others. They even have a dog with one eye.
Tadpole’s new family loves taking care of animals who need extra love and attention. It is bittersweet for Roni to give up Tadpole but she knows it’s for the best.
