Chief or Oreo Cloud, a cute chow chow puppy, has fluffy fur that looks like a bowl of cookies and cream. When his mom, Sara Hamilton took a picture of him and shared it on Dogspotting Society, he instantly went viral. It earned 22,000 likes, and most people noticed Chief’s resemblance to an Oreo-based dessert. Apart from his cute spots, Chief is also a loving dog who likes to cuddle, and when he sleeps, he snores the loudest.
Even though it was obvious that Chief was a Chow Chow, his unique look often causes confusion, but a test result confirmed his breed. The rare color on his coat was due to the merle gene that produced mottled patches. Despite Chief’s unique appearance, it did not stop him from training as a therapy dog for children. Hamilton was confident that he would become an amazing therapy dog who would bring joy in children’s darkest moments.
His fur mom named him Chief because he was expected to grow around 85 pounds, and because he had the characteristics of a leader, he would definitely become a chief in the future. At only eight weeks, Chief had already been potty-trained and he was also well-behaved and a fast learner.
Hamilton hopes to take Chief to a series of dog training and therapy classes. She also plans to enroll him in essential classes when he turns one so he could officially take the final test for certification and start working in hospitals, once a week.
Since Hamilton also had a background attending to sick children, she knew that Chief would do a great job. Even though the certification process has slowed down a bit for Chief due to the pandemic, Hamilton is still filled with hopes that her furry pup would be one of the promising therapy dogs who would bring smiles to children.
