Not all homeless dogs roam the streets. Some get left behind, still restrained by their previous owner. These pooches suffer while patiently waiting for their family to come back, and they live a life that a pup doesn’t deserve.
Lisa Arturo and JoAnn Wiltz had the opportunity to rescue two dogs abandoned while still restrained. Hope For Paws got multiple calls about these dogs left under the freeway. Their owners don’t seem to be anywhere around, so the rescuers went to get them immediately.
The rescuers encountered law enforcement when they arrived on the scene and got an all-clear to rescue the dogs. Lisa went through a gap in the fence to get to the chained pooches. When she got close enough, she realized just how horrible the pups’ living conditions are.
Lisa looked in horror as she saw the dogs sitting in their own pee and poop. They didn’t have any food or water too, and as they gobbled the food the rescuer gave, Lisa realized both dogs starved. The women knew they needed to get the dogs out of there and into safety as soon as possible.
Lisa put a Lucky Leash on one of the dogs. Luckily, both pooches understood the women wanted to help, but they still looked scared and confused. After taking off the collar attached to the chain, the rescuers secured the first dog using the humane trap.
After loading the dog into their vehicle, Lisa and JoAnn returned for the second pooch. Lisa also put the Lucky Leash on the dog. Once free from its restraint, the pup looked so eager to get out of there.
The rescuers named the dogs, two male Pit Bulls, Sir Guinness and Moose. They underwent medical care at the hospital to ensure they are well physically. After getting cleared by the doctors, Sir Guinness and Moose moved to their foster home.
The two dogs fostered with Sunny Day Acres. Entirely removed from their terrible living conditions, Sir Guinness and Moose now enjoy the life they deserve. They’re now waiting to find their forever family.
